As part of its international growth, Clever Cloud has signed its first partnership in Côte d'Ivoire, with DataConnet Africa, to offer the region's first Sovereign and Secure cloud.

Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), November 25, 2024 – Clever Cloud, a French creator of deployment and hosting solutions in PaaS (Platform as a Service) mode, and DataConnect Africa, a subsidiary of New Digital Africa (NDA), an African provider of managed infrastructure services for enterprises offering innovative, tailor-made solutions in connectivity, cloud, datacenter and cybersecurity, announce the first stage of the Sovereign and Secure Cloud in Côte d’Ivoire. This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the digital sovereignty and autonomy of African businesses and governments, while supporting their digital transformation.

Dtaaconnect and clever cloud sign partnership

This partnership, formalized in Abidjan on the fringes of the Assises de la transformation digitale en Afrique (ATDA) conference, is designed to position the Clever Cloud Africa initiative as a key player in the region, drawing on Clever Cloud’s technological expertise and NDA’s in-depth knowledge of African markets to provide businesses and administrations with secure solutions that meet the continent’s strategic requirements.

This first step, which comes with the launch of NDA subsidiary DataConnect’s secure, sovereign cloud offering, embodies a shared conviction: that digital sovereignty is essential to guarantee economic autonomy and stimulate growth in Africa. This partnership illustrates the commitment of New Digital Africa and Clever Cloud to co-create solutions that help retain value on the continent and strengthen the local value chain through inclusive partnerships.

Ange Kacou Diagou, CEO of New Digital Africa, commented: “Our Group is continuing to expand, and is forging new partnerships with leading international players to enhance our range of solutions for our customers and expand into new markets. Clever Cloud shares our values in building the levers of our strategic autonomy locally, with reliable solutions for public and private players. Security and resilience are part of New Digital Africa’s DNA, and we’re also putting this into practice today with the signing of this partnership to strengthen the Cloud offering of our subsidiary DataConnect Africa.

A strategic location for a sustainable digital ecosystem

With the foundation stone laid in Abidjan, the Clever Cloud Africa initiative relies on the association of new local partners and investors. In West Africa, Clever Cloud Africa intends to expand into Benin, Senegal, Mali and Togo, before gradually extending into Central Africa, including strategic countries such as Cameroon and the DRC. As part of this deployment, Clever Cloud Africa will also support the development of local skills and the consolidation of R&D in these territories.

This project is part of a drive to create jobs and nurture talent in the IT sector, in order to build an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem that will enable African companies and public sector players to prosper while reducing their dependency, and truly building their strategic autonomy.

Quentin Adam, CEO of Clever Cloud, added: “Strengthening digital sovereignty is a necessity to preserve economic and strategic autonomy and guarantee future prosperity. Through this deployment in Africa, our ambition is to contribute, with our local partners, to the emergence of talent and value in these territories. Côte d’Ivoire was an obvious choice for us to co-construct a sustainable value proposition for companies and public players wishing to build their strategic autonomy in West Africa.
