Clever Cloud is certified as a Health Data Hosting provider (HDS), across all six areas of activity, in its updated version effective since May 16, 2024, on its infrastructure zones located in France. This certification ensures a compliant environment in terms of security, traceability, auditability, and resource isolation.
This compliance is native to our infrastructure: no manual configuration required, the environment is ready to use. All necessary components are already integrated (TLS encryption, IAM, logs, backups…), enabling a fast and compliant production rollout.
Simplified deployment, automatic scalability
Deployment is done with a simple git push, or via our Clever Tools CLI, API, or Kubernetes integration. No scripts to maintain: the platform detects the type of application, provisions the necessary resources, triggers the build, and brings the service online.
Enable automatic vertical and horizontal scaling in a single click: CPU and memory are dynamically adjusted according to the workload. This ensures high availability without human intervention.

Managed, secure, and ready-to-use databases
Clever Cloud offers a complete range of managed databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch. These databases are automatically backed up, monitored, configured according to security best practices, and fully scalable, both vertically (adding CPU, memory, storage) and horizontally (replication and clustering).
Credentials are automatically injected into your application’s environment variables, preventing configuration errors or accidental exposure. For use cases with high availability and flexibility requirements, Materia KV, our serverless key/value database, provides distributed storage replicated across three datacenters in France, with automatic scaling and minimal latency. It is ideal for metadata, scoring systems, application caches, or event-driven engines.
Sovereignty, security, independence
Clever Cloud is a French company, operating exclusively under European jurisdiction. All data is hosted in France, in environments compliant with the GDPR, with no transfer to infrastructures outside the European Union.uropéenne.
Our services are not subject to extraterritorial regulations such as the Cloud Act or the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which allow authorities to access data even when it is stored outside the United States. We guarantee transparent and sovereign management: no data resale, no uncontrolled subcontracting, no vendor lock-in. The platform relies on open standards and proven open source components (Sozu, Biscuit, Keycloak…) to ensure interoperability, auditability, and reversibility.
Integrated monitoring and customizable alerts
Every service deployed on Clever Cloud comes with real-time metrics, logs, and dashboards. These can be accessed through our console, our API, or Grafana. Teams can set up customizable alerts to anticipate incidents or respond quickly.
We apply a rigorous security policy: continuous supervision, centralized identity management, resilience testing, and regular audits required by our ISO 27001 and HDS certifications. Our environments are isolated, encrypted, and documented with full transparency.

How can I integrate Clever Cloud into an existing CI/CD pipeline?
Clever Cloud integrates with most CI/CD tools, such as GitLab or GitHub Actions, using our Clever Tools CLI, our REST API, and our Kubernetes Operator. You can also configure zero-downtime deployments via our blue-green deployment mechanism, ensuring service continuity during updates.
Can resource scaling be automated?
Yes. The platform automatically adjusts CPU and memory usage according to workload, but you can also configure vertical or horizontal scaling manually through the console, the CLI, or the API, depending on your performance and cost requirements.
Is it possible to deploy in an isolated (air-gapped) environment?
Yes. Clever Cloud can be deployed in your own datacenters or in a fully air-gapped environment, for cases where compliance or internal policy requires full control of network flows.
How do you secure database access?
Credentials are automatically injected into your application’s environment variables, without being stored in plain text in code or Git repositories. Connections are encrypted (TLS), and access can be restricted to specific IP ranges.
How can Materia KV be useful in healthcare?
Materia KV is our serverless key/value database, ultra-scalable and replicated across three datacenters in France. It is ideal for storing patient metadata, event logs, or any dataset requiring high availability and low latency.
Can I connect my existing monitoring tools?
Yes. Metrics: you can publish your own metrics via statsd or Prometheus; they are ingested into Warp 10 and available in the Grafana dashboards provided by Clever Cloud. Our environments are redundant, with automatic instance recovery in case of incident (self-healing) and replicated daily backups. With the Premium SLA option, Clever Cloud guarantees up to 99.99% annual availability for your critical services.
Do you carry out regular security audits?
Clever Cloud is certified ISO 27001 and HDS. These certifications require regular external audits performed by independent organizations to verify compliance with security requirements. In addition, we provide continuous vulnerability management and security updates, as well as monitoring of our open source components (Sozu, Biscuit, etc.).
How does Clever Cloud protect against extraterritorial laws such as the Cloud Act or FISA?
